WBZ-FM adds stereo, flips to rock.

WHDH-TV (channel 5)'s license expires, to be replaced a few hours later by WCVB.
Sept. 25
Dynamic Broadcasting files to sell WILD (1090 Boston) to Sheridan Broadcasting. (Granted December 29.)

Feb. 28
Sale of WILD to Sheridan Broadcasting takes effect.
Oct. 11
WCOP-FM flips to oldies.

1974

Oct.
WCOP-FM flips to country, returing to the simulcast with WCOP(AM).

1976

Mar. 15
WILD (1090) files to increase power from 1 kW to 5 kW, still daytime-only, remaining at 1 kW critical hours.
Oct. 4
WCOP-FM becomes WTTK.

1977

May 20
WCOP(AM) flips to Top-40, becomes WACQ.
Sept.
WLVI-TV sold to Field Communications.

1978

Mar. 3
The FCC grants WILD (1090)'s application to increase day power to 5 kW (remaining at 1 kW during critical hours).

1979

Jan. 1
WACQ and WTTK become WHUE/WHUE-FM, flip to beautiful music.
Nov. 10
WTBS-FM becomes WMBR; Ted Turner's WTCG-TV (17 Atlanta) becomes WTBS.
